The
measure of success is not whether you have a tough problem
to deal with, but whether it's the same problem you had last
year.

Breakthrough Strategies,
Inc. recognizes that a certified Six Sigma Green Belt is a vital
component of successful continuous improvement programs. Most organizations
realize that the need to develop Green Belts, who are the critical
mass for change, is necessary if they want to achieve breakthrough
results from their Six Sigma initiatives. Our four-day Green Belt
Certification Course provides participants with a fundamental understanding
of Six Sigma and its application that will facilitate those initiatives.
Our course is
built upon the following framework:
- The philosophy/principles of Six Sigma
- An in-depth appreciation for and practical use of the Six Sigma
methodology supported by examples of strategies, tools, measurements,
and controls used in successful planning and deployment
- Examples from organizations that have successfully implemented
Six Sigma, and how they got started
- Key learning's that are supported through the utilization of
experiential/team based assignments
In addition, our
certification course focuses on the following:
- Concepts, methodology and tools often used in problem solving
and planning
- A working knowledge of process mapping and the benefits of
process improvement
- Data gathering, statistical analysis, and the implementation
of improvement initiatives
- The use of designated quantitative and qualitative tools needed
to make improvements in service, cost, time and customer/employee
satisfaction
- The development and establishment of performance measures
- The establishment of a data collection process used in conjunction
with the principles of variation
- An understanding and ability to apply statistical tools (e.g.,
control charts) to business situations.
What
Sets Us Apart from Other Green Belt Certification Courses
Most other Green Belt
programs focus on statistical tools alone and can take from 5 to
15 days to complete. Only about 20% to 30% of the statistical tools
taught are commonly used in day-to-day improvement efforts. Our
approach is to take the statistical tools that have the highest
probability of use, and balance that with facilitation skills, data
gathering, problem solving, process improvement, team building,
and decision-making tools. Our 35 years of practical Six Sigma experience
has taught us that the most efficient and effective Green Belt is
one who has a “balanced” skill set in leading and participating
in improvement efforts.
Participants will learn:
- A five-step improvement model
- How to define and clarify what needs to be improved
- How to gather data to determine and measure current performance
- How to analyze data and develop an improvement plan
- How to implement an improved process and measure future performance
- How to control the gains and continue the improvement
- How companies like GE and Allied Signal use Six Sigma concepts
to drive improvement and profits to new levels
Course Benefits
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to
develop and implement strategies for:
- Applying Six Sigma concepts, methodology and tools most often
used in planning and implementing improvement and problem solving
initiatives
- Identifying and defining opportunities/problems/issues more
clearly
- Leading effective improvement efforts
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of business and
work processes
- Establishing a standardized defect measurement system applicable
in all processes
- Enhancing their work experience and positioning themselves
for career advancement
- Improving customer satisfaction levels
- Increasing profit margins
- Shortening cycle times
- Reducing costs
